Bourg Saint Maurice is a village located in Haute Tarentaise, in Savoie. The last village before Italy, Bourg-Saint Maurice was situated on the Roman road going from Turin to Lyon, via the Petit Saint Bernard pass. Today, this village benefits mainly from tourism linked to the proximity of the major ski resorts of Tarentaise, such as Les Arcs, La Rosière, Val d' Isère and Tignes. In addition to the tasting of cheese, and in particular of Beaufort cheese, produced on the spot, the region is also known for its speciality of crozets, small square pasta with sarazin which are declined in 'croziflette'.
