WINDHOEK - OTJIWARANGO
Arrival in Windhoek. Welcome by our guide for the delivery of the travel documents. Then, pick up your rental car. Drive to Otjiwarango. You will drive through Okahandja, a small town of 8000 inhabitants on the banks of a tributary of the Swakop River.
OTJIWARANGO - ETOSHA
Visit the Cheetah Conservation Fund, created in 1990 by Dr. Laurie Marker. This research and awareness center welcomes the public wishing to learn about the situation of the cheetah, a highly endangered species in Africa. Drive to Etosha National Park. In the late afternoon you will leave for your first game drive with your rental car. Overnight at the camp.
Day of sarafi in your vehicle. Discovery of Etosha National Park, one of Africa’s premier wildlife sanctuaries, and proclaimed a reserve in 1907. The heart of the park is “Etosha Pan” which means “place of dry water”, a vast flat depression of about 5 000km2. This great white expanse where mirages and herds merge makes it a unique experience in Africa.
ETOSHA - KHORIXAS
Morning game drive in the southwestern part of Etosha Park. You will be struck by the presence of numerous herds of zebras and wildebeest. Drive to Khorixas. Overnight at the lodge
Discovery of Damaraland, located in the north-east quarter of Namibia, Daramaraland owes its name to the Damara people who make up the bulk of the country. It is a hilly transition zone, between the coast of the country. As it moves away from the coast, the terrain gradually rises, leaving behind the dunes and plains for vast mountains and “kopjes” where the rivers have their source.
KHORIXAS - SWAKOPMUND
Visit of the petrified forest paleontological site. Drive to Twyfelfontein. Visit of the “burnt mountain”. Then, visit Twyfelfontein, in the heart of the Darmaraland, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This cave site with its hundreds of rock engravings is an essential stopover. Continuation to Swakopmund.
Around Swakopmund and Walvis Bay: We recommend a visit to the town of Swakopmund with its 1910 lighthouse, the old post office and its numb atmosphere, Walvis Bay with its lagoon, its harbor and its flights of flamingos and pelicans, Sandwich Harbour where the dunes of Namibia meet the ocean, a cruise to Pelican Point will allow you to discover a colony of sea lions and then dolphins that will come and play around your boat
SWAKOPMUND - NAMIB DESERT
Discovery of the Namib Desert. With an area of 49,800 km2, the Namib Naukluft National Park is the largest reserve in Namibia, and one of the largest national parks in the world. It encompasses a wide variety of landscapes, from the vast expanses of red sand dunes of Sossusvlei to the Naufluft Mountains, where deep gorges alternate with majestic peaks.
