The Hassan II mosque is situated in the Moroccan town of Casablanca, with construction having been completed in 1993 after seven years of work. Built on the seafront in a traditional Moroccan style, it is the work of the French architect Michel Pinceau. With a surface area of 90,000 square metres, it can accommodate 25,000 worshippers in the prayer hall, while its minaret reaches more than 200 metres in height, making it one of the biggest mosques in the world today.
