A small village of some 300 inhabitants at 300 metres above sea level not far from Aix-les-Bains. It was here that one day in 2005, Michaël Arnoult - a native of Orléans - and his wife Ingrid, were married seven years ago. They decided to move here partly because of the undoubted charms of the place, but also for a more prosaic reason - a lack of money. The couple decided to settle here and make a fresh start which proved to be a wise choice as the Michelin Guide, that renowned talent spotter, awarded the restaurant with its first star in 2007 and a second less than five years later. Les Morainières is close to Lake Bourget, with windows opening onto a hill planted with vineyards, where the cook gladly takes the time to walk around to find inspiration for his recipes. Calmly, he imposes his style of cooking. Fine-dining without being pretentious. Creative without being confusing. Endowed with the obvious desire to please all who come to visit this small village.
